What to Expect

Join us every Sunday morning for Sunday School at 9:30a and Worship at 10:30a.

What Can I Expect on Sunday Morning?

You can expect to see a family, comprised of all ages, who is excited to be together. You can expect to hear engaging music – where you’ll find the freedom to sing along. You can expect to hear a message based on Biblical truth(s) with an emphasis on the power of Jesus Christ

What Should I Wear?

Clothes. We don’t have a dress code. The truth is you’ll be hard-pressed to find anyone in a suit. Jeans are pretty much the norm. So don’t put too much thought into this – we just hope to see you there. The only thing we ask in regard to dress is that your choice of clothing not be a distraction to anyone else. It really is that simple.

Is there Anything for My Kid(s) to Do?

We know and understand that children learn and interact much differently than adults. While we find value in having children worship alongside adults, we also aim to provide a time and space where the two ages are separate. Here’s how this works at FCC. During our 10:30am worship time, children and adults remain together in the auditorium for the first half. This time includes music, the Lord’s Supper, offering, etc. We then split: adults remain in the auditorium for the morning’s message; while children in Preschool – 4th grades attend Youth Church classes.

Youth Church classes are split into age groups, and are staffed by prepared, volunteer teachers. These teachers are part of the FCC family – have been properly screened and background-checked – and help provide a safe, fun, inviting atmosphere for children.

What is the Lord’s Supper?

You will notice that we take the Lord’s Supper (or communion) every Sunday morning. It’s a time for every Christian to reflect on Christ’s commitment to us (through His death, burial, resurrection) and to examine our commitment to Christ. We practice an open Lord’s Supper – meaning you don’t have to be a member of our church to join us in the Lord’s Supper. It’s for every immersed believer.

Does First Christian Church Ask Me for Money?

We collect an offering on Sunday mornings. But, it’s not something we ask of our guests. We collect an offering for a few reasons. First, we consider it a privilege to acknowledge God with our finances, and find that the local church is a place to do that. We believe that God blesses us to be a blessing to others. Another reason is that as Christians pool their resources together, more can be done for the kingdom of God. There is no pressure to give on Sunday mornings.
