This week we look at The Parable of the Ten Minas in Luke 19. This is similar to the Parable of the Talents in Matthew 25, but this version focuses more on the master going away and returning as a king as Jesus is approaching Jerusalem. We see that the servants are given a Mina to invest while the master is away. When the master returns as king, he summons the servants to see what their investment yielded. One servant yield 10 times the investment, another five, and yet another put it away in a cloth for safe keeping.
This task was never about the money, but more about doing the will of the king with the gift they were given. As Christians, we are to invest what we have been given as we prepare for the King’s return.
