This week we take a look at the Lord’s Supper, or Communion, in depth. Paul points out a lot of division in the church and calls it out, saying that some show up eating their fill while others are wondering if they will be able to take fo the Lord’s Supper. We need to remember that this was an actual meal in the early church and they would gather to commune and learn in houses. We also see Paul teaching about eating in an unworthy manner, which was not about being perfect before the Table but about how we relate to those around us at the table. As the saying goes, the ground is level at the foot of the cross.
At the Lord’s table, everyone gets a plate.
