As we move into the Christmas season, Richard starts a new series, Christmas Caroling, where we will look at some popular carols and the scriptures they are based on.
This week we take a look at Angels We Have Heard on High. We see this carol in Luke 2:8-20 where the angels appear to the shepherds. In verses 13-14 a multitude of angels appear, singing ‘Glory to God in the highest heaven,’ a phrase that is repeated in Angels We Have Heard on High (Gloria in excelsis Deo). These shepherds were the first people invited to see Christ, showing He came for everybody.
The shepherds’ response didn’t end with just hearing the message; they went out to find Jesus, told about Jesus, and went back to their lives forever changed. What is your response to the messages we receive?
