Mason takes us to two examples of people that had real reason to fear… Mary and Joseph (Luke 1:26-38 and Matthew 1:18-25). Mary was going to conceive a child out of wedlock, Joseph was to marry this woman who (in their culture) brought shame upon herself, her family, and Joseph. They both had reasons to fear for their lives and their futures; however, they both heeded God’s call and took His hand and the next step by faith with God.

In all times when we are afraid we need to remember the promise, ‘Do not fear, for I am with you.’ We need to reach out, take God’s hand, and take the next steps of faith.
