We start a journey with Simon this week, starting with his calling in Luke 5. Simon knew how to fish, he knew what it took and when to pursue fishing. At this time, he just finished fishing with no luck and loans his boat to a teacher to teach from. After he finished teaching, he instructed Simon to put the nets in the lake. The catch was so large that it began to sink this boat and another that came to help. Simon, after witnessing the miracle, told Jesus to go away as he was unworthy to be in his presence. Jesus tells Simon that he will be a fisher of men.

Jesus doesn’t need us to be perfect, he needs us to be faithful.
